I was among the first to post on Nathan Mills' opinion; I recognized him as an idiot (genius) for drawing me in to comment on his column. I also took an aggressive position defending his "right to write," as well as the editor's decision to publish an obviously controversial opinion. Is this cutting-edge journalism? No, it was meant to be an edgy, debatable, almost-inflammatory piece to sell newspapers...and sell papers, they did. In fact, it even got the attention of a writer from another state! I have friends who are students and alumni of PSU, a proud, aggresive institution, who would absolutely expect me to defend my school, and point out that The Collegio has contributed to the perpetuation of the success of The Chart. Nathan Mills is not a bad person, nor a bad writer (although he may have had some technical challenges in this article), he voiced an opinion (not exclusive to MSSU) and was schooled...in a manner that benefitted MSSU and the MDA. It's done, everybody wins, and The Chart's First Amendment rights, and YOURS, are intact!
