Congratulations to President Scott...he'll do yeoman's work. I do think the BOR missed an opportunity to diverse PSU's upper administration by not selecting Dr. Carlin. It also adds pressure for KU and K-State to select a female to avoid a state of all white male university presidents.

I am sorry for you and your comment about your statement.
If this is a racial problem then so be it. But If the best person for the job is selected then who are you to make this type of remark?

I apologize if my comment came across racial...that wasn't my intention. I think Dr. Scott will do a great job for PSU and SEK and I'm excited for him to have this opportunity. My comment was to make a larger point that our universities need to consider candidates of all backgrounds given the changing demographics of college students. More females attend college than males and minority populations make-up a greater percentage of graduating high school students. If Kansas universities are going to attract these students, (particularly from out of state since we don't have enough in-state students to attend our number of colleges and universities) it helps to have leadership that represents these populations. Just my opinion...I understand if you disagree.

Congratulations to Mister/Doctor Steve Scott as the new leader of Pittsburg State University and Gorilla Land.
While some large shoes to be filled from Tom Bryant, there are people like Howard Smith who are able and willing to work to be of service for the betterment of the University to grow and build to its full potential.
It is a school that I am very proud to have attended and a part of the Greek Community.

So, by this thought process, more blacks will want to come to America because Obama is president?
