Two Pittsburg State University students were among four persons arrested on drug charges last Thursday and Friday.

Laura Marie Williamson, sophomore in family and consumer sciences, was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Jed Perez, freshman in auto technology, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and drug paraphernalia.

Williamson, who lives at 318 Bowen Hall, was arrested at the home of Michael Lloyd Kerr, 20, and Michael James Edwards, 20. The Pittsburg Police Department executed a search warrant on Friday, Sept. 22, at 423 East Madison. Police say they seized about 19 grams of cocaine, $1,400 in cash, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun. Williamson's bond was set at $5,000.

Edwards was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and intent to sell, possession of marijuana and intent to sell, misdemeanor and felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal use of a firearm. Edward's bond was set at $26,000.

Kerr, who was not home at the time of the search, later turned himself in to police and was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $2,000. Neither Edwards nor Kerr are PSU students.

On Thursday, Sept. 21, officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in the 900 block of North Taylor. Jed Perez was found sleeping in his car on the side of the road. Officers searched the vehicle and said they found marijuana and paraphernalia. Perez was taken to the Crawford County Jail. His bond was set at $8,500.

Officers executed a district court warrant at Willard Hall early Tuesday, Sept. 19. Deanna Garret, senior in early/late childhood education, was charged with obstruction of official duty, a class A misdemeanor. Police say that the charge was based on false information regarding an automobile accident that happened on Monday, April 30, earlier this year. Garret's bond was set at $2,000.

All students have since posted bond and have been released.
