Dear incoming freshmen,

Summers always go more quickly than we expect and this one is no exception. We look forward to seeing you on campus in a very short time.

The first days of your university career will be hectic, exciting, challenging and sometimes a little stressful. There's a lot to take in, but the faculty and staff will all be here to help you get off on the right foot.

A few words of advice are in order as you prepare for the big move.

1. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Your Freshman Experience leader, RAs, professors, academic advisers, veteran students, office secretaries and even building custodians can help point you in the right direction.

2. Get off to a good start academically. That begins with going to class. Unfortunately, a few students, without Mom or Dad to prod them, fail to establish good attendance and study habits. A good start will save you work, time and anxiety down the road.

3. Don't hesitate to ask for help. Whether the issues are academic or personal, there are people around you who can help you resolve your problems. You are part of the Gorilla family and you have a great support network. Don't hesitate to use it.

Great things are happening at PSU and we're excited that you are going to be part of it! We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

Sincerely,

Tom Bryant
