Pittsburg police arrested two persons Wednesday in connection with an arson fire at Sayre's Auto, 116 E. First St., that damaged the entire building.
Arrested was Caleb A. Olds, 18, of Pittsburg, and a 16-year-old whose name was not released because he is a juvenile. Both face charges of burglary and arson.
The fire, which occurred at 6 a.m. Wednesday, was the latest in a series of four fires in Pittsburg this week.
The Kansas State Fire Marshals Office and the Pittsburg police have investigated the fires and ruled them as deliberately set. The first two fires were dumpster fires, one set on Monday night in the alley of the Bargain Center, 517 N. Broadway, and the second on Tuesday night at Saint Mary's-Colgan High School, 212 E. Ninth St. The third fire was set about 3 a.m. Wednesday on three automobiles, with another car sustaining some damage.
No arrests have been made on these three fires, according to Maj. Brent Narges.
