ISA plans Recognition Night
The International Student Association will hold a Recognition Night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, in the Weede Gymnasium, during the volleyball game. International students will be recognized during the game, have a chance to win a Gorilla volleyball T-shirt, and meet the women's volleyball team. Refreshments and autograph signings will follow the game. For more information, call Jeff Hashman at 235-4383, or e-mail jhashman@pittstate.edu.
Planetarium to start Mars program
The L. Russell Kelce planetarium is offering the program "Mars and the Mars Exploration Rovers." The program features photographs taken during past Mars missions as well as recent photographs from the Mars Exploration Rovers. The program will continue weekly through September with shows at 7 p.m. every Tuesday. The planetarium is located in Yates Hall on the corner of Joplin and Cleveland streets. Tickets are $3 at the door, or may be purchased in advance from the PSU Ticket Office in the Overman Student Center. Group discounts, as well as discounts for PSU students and faculty, and those 65 or older or 17 and younger, are available. For more information, call the PSU Department of Physics at 235-4292. SafeRide needs drivers
SafeRide, the free student taxi service to accommodate students who are too inebriated to drive, needs drivers for the fall semester. If you are interested in driving this weekend, call SafeRide director Chris King at 816-699-6817. Applications are available in the SGA Office.
SGA needs applicants
The Student Government Association needs to fill several Senate vacancies, and asks that anyone interested in joining to fill out an application. Applications are available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the SGA office, located in the basement of the Overman Student Center. SGA meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday.
Area 51 to perform
Gorilla Fest featuring musical talent Area 51 will be held 4-6:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Gorilla Village. For more information, call Ed Wirthwein at 235-4795.
