"I didn't vote until I was 30 years old because I never felt inspired by any candidates," said the 42-year-old non-traditional student.
That vote was cast for Bill Clinton during his second term in office.
"He was a fresh face, young and articulate," Miller said. "He had already done his four years in office and the economy was doing great."
But now Miller wants to get more involved in the campaign of Democratic Party candidate Barack Obama.
Thanks to the Web site www.eventful.com, PSU students may be able to "demand" a campus visit from Obama. Eventful.com is taking votes from every college in the nation to bring presidential candidates to their university.
Lisa Miller is trying to bring this Web site to students' attention by posting a link in the message hut of the Gorilla Village.
"I think Obama is a man of character and vision that could bring those characteristics to this school," Miller said.
As of Jan. 30, Pittsburg State had a total of 18 votes, which trails significantly to the vote leader at the time, the University of California-Irvine with 359 votes.
Interested students can log onto Eventful.com and vote to bring any presidential candidate to PSU.
