SAPS to hold a Photo Seminar

The Student Association of Photographers will hold a seminar and contest called "Perspectives of Photography" from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, in room S102 of the Kansas Technology Center.
Guest speakers range from Missouri Department of Conservation photographer Noppadol Paothong to PSU student Brittany Burney, who works for Captured Images in Fort Scott and has designed multiple Web sites.
Elliot Sutherland a photojournalist, and Brad Gadberry, a studio photographer, will speak as well.
While these photographers will lecture at the seminar, a contest will also be held for amateur photographers.
Three categories of photos will be up for judging: color, black and white, and illustrative (those manipulated with programs like PhotoShop).
Separate contests will be held for high school and amateur photographers.
The following are guidelines for each photo:
- Print must be mounted.
- Any color mount board may be used.
- Entry forms must be placed on the back of each photo.
- Photos must be 5x7 or bigger, but no larger than 11x14.
The first entry is free, but additional photos are $5 each for a maximum of five.
All entries must be received by Sunday, Feb. 17.
Breakfast and lunch will also be provided at the seminar,which costs $5 for college and high school students with ID, and $15 for the general public.
