SafeRide hours extended


SafeRide hours have been extended from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. to 11 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays to accommodate student needs. Call 719-0135 for a SafeRide in the Pittsburg Frontenac area.

St. Patrick's Day hours will be from 12 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Look for the grey Windstar van with the "CHOICES" sign on the windows and "PSU SafeRide" signs on the sides. For more information, call J.T. Knoll at 235-4062 or e-mail jknoll@pittstate.edu.


Violinist to perform


Cihat Askin, professor of music at the Turkish State Music Conservatory, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the recital room of McCray Hall. Askin began playing violin at age 11 and has toured throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States. Askin became founder and music director of the Istanbul Chamber Orchestra from 2001-2006. CAC to hold
dessert contest


The Campus Activities Council will hold an Apple Dessert Contest at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, at the Gorilla Lounge across from the bookstore in the Overman Student Center. Entries must be delivered to the Campus Activities Center between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Dishes must be picked up by Tuesday, March 4. Winners will be announced at the Apple Day Convocation at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 6, in McCray Hall. The entry form must be turned in to the Campus Activities Center in the Overman Student Center by Friday, Feb. 29.


Lambda Pi Eta
plans talent show


Lambda Pi Eta will present a talent show with guest performers. Auditions are set for 7 p.m. Monday, March 3, at the Balkans Room of the Overman Student Center, and at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at the Crimson and Gold Ballroom of the Overman Student Center. Dancers, singers, duets and improvisations are welcome. First place will receive $100; second place will receive $75; and third place will receive $50.
