to present lecture
Lydia Thompson will present a lecture titled "Promises ... a Work in Progress" at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, in Grubbs Hall room 109. A reception will follow in Porter Hall. The presentation deals with an exploration of the painful history of black slavery through the icon of cotton and the material of clay. The event is sponsored by the Office of Student Diversity. Admission is free.
Chinese club
to hold meeting
The Chinese Culture Club will hold a meeting at 3 p.m. Friday, March 8, in the U-Club downstairs in the Overman Student Center. The meeting is for people who are interested in being a one-on-one tutor and for people who are interested in meeting with a one-on-one tutor. Meetings with tutors will be weekly, one-hour sessions involving language and culture lessons.

on 'insurance jargon'
Rob Lessen will present "The Ins and Outs of Insurance - Understanding Insurance Jargon" from 12:25 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the Balkans Room in the Overman Student Center. Male beauty pageant to be held
Alpha Sigma Alpha will present its annual fund-raiser "Mr. Cinderfella," a male beauty pageant, at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Crimson and Gold Ballroom. Admission is a $2 donation. Attendees can have their names put into a drawing for several door prizes. All donations go to the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation. For more information, go to www.alphasigmaalpha.org/programs.

The Students Activities Council will hold an East egg hunt at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, in the Oval. Children 12 and under may participate. The Easter Bunny will be there, as well as lots of candy.
