Pittsburg State University's Korean students, with some help from friends from other cultures, will hold their annual Korean Culture Day celebration from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Crimson and Gold Ballroom in the Overman Student Center.

"We have been doing this for six or seven years," said Cory Kim, junior in accounting. "It's going to be a great opportunity to understand other cultures."
Kim says the event usually brings in an audience of 250-300 people. Those attending this year's event will see demonstrations of Korean martial art Taekwondo,
traditional fan dancing and music that will combine ancient tradition with modern culture.

"That's what we're trying to do," Kim said. "Mix traditional culture and modern culture. Then get American and Japanese students involved."

After the performance, food will be served at the United Methodist Campus Ministries Center, located north of the Newman Center. The dinner will cost $5 per person and will include authentic Korean food.
