Spring powwow scheduled May 3
The Native American Student Association will have its Spring Pow Wow on Saturday, May 3, at the Pittsburg Middle School Gymnasium. Vendors will set up at 10:30 a.m. Gourd dances will be held at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
A supper break will be at 4 p.m. and the Grand entry time will begin at 7 p.m. There will be contests in adult categories. For more information, call Brandon Plott at 620-704-0671.
Homecoming theme votes due Friday
Vote for the homecoming theme by returning ballots by 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, to the Campus Activities Center in the basement of the Overman Student Center. The choices are: Gus Goes for the Gold; Home for the Holidays; Don't Change That Channel; and Gus Saves the Game! Only one vote per student group.

A dance party will be from 8:30 p.m. to midnight Friday, April 25, at the Weede Dance Studio. The theme is white. A light snack and refreshments will be provided. The event is sponsored by the International Student Association. Tickets cost $3 a person. For more information, call Meltem Tugut at 235-4607, or Shiho Itooka at 235-4679.

holds book sale
There will be a book sale in celebration of Earth Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the recycling center located at 615 N. Joplin. Textbooks, novels and others will be for sale for a quarter each. Children's books will cost a dime. For more information, call Chuck Delp at 231-8930.

The Women's Studies Club will hold the annual Take Back the Night event at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Timmons Chapel on the PSU campus. The event is to promote awareness of and work against sexual assault. It is open to the public.
Leadership awards

The Leadership and Award Banquet will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, in the Crimson and Gold Ballroom of the Overman Student Center. The banquet recognizes the outstanding contributions student organizations have made through their programs and leadership. For more information, call Ed Wirthwein at 235-4795.

The Friends of Leonard H. Axe Library will hold a Children's Book Fair from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in the east entrance of the Weede Gymnasium. Books will have discounts of 25 percent or more.
