The Gorillas faced Northwest Missouri on Saturday, April 5, sweeping the games with a 4-3 win in the first game and 11-10 in the second.
They went on to host Missouri Western on Sunday, April 6, starting off with a 3-11 loss but coming back in the end with a 6-1 win.
"We had a couple of close games, but we played well and had some breaks go our way," said head coach Brad Horky.
The team then hosted the Southwest Baptist Bearcats at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, winning the game 5-4.
Coming into Wednesday's win, Pitt State held a 16-20 overall record with a 4-2 in MIAA. Horky says three of his players who had been injured were able to play in last weekend's games.
The team will travel next to Maryville to play in the Northwest Missouri Spring Classic. They will face South Dakota, Augustana, and St. Cloud State on Saturday, April 12, and Minnesota State and South Dakota on Sunday, April 13.
"We play a couple of teams that beat us early on, so we can get a second chance at them," said Horky.
In their last showing, Pitt State lost to St. Cloud State (3-4) on March 14, and again to Minnesota State (3-4) on March 30.
"Every game is going to be tough, so we just have to be ready to get out there and compete," said Horky.
