Students gathered in the Gorilla Village on Wednesday afternoon, April 16, to celebrate the change of the season, to eat food and to listen to music during this year's Spring Fling, a yearly event put on by the Student Activities Council and the Residence Hall Assembly with catering by Sodexho.

Midnight to Twelve, a band from Los Angeles, rocked in the gazebo while students ate, laughed and relaxed away the stress of college life.

A caricature artist was also available for pictures.

"It's good to hang out with friends," Katie Hockman, an attendee, said. "It's like a post-spring break."

Kim Reed, head of club entertainment for SAC, says that the event has been a combined effort between SAC and RHA for about five years.

Jeanette Dyck, resident dining manager, says that it took three to four days of planning and cooking to get ready for the event.

"I was praying for rain, but we got wind instead," Dyck said.

An estimated 300 people attended the event.
