Early enrollment for the summer and fall 2008 semesters began the week of April 14. As such, registrar Debbie Greve requests that students log on to GUS at http://go.pittstate.edu/ and verify their demographic information. For more information, call Greve at 235-4205.


Spring pow wow
scheduled May 3


The Native American Student Association will have its Spring Pow Wow on Saturday, May 3, at the Pittsburg Middle School Gymnasium. Vendors will set up at 10:30 a.m. Gourd dances will be at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. A supper break will be at 4 p.m. and the Grand entry time will begin at 7 p.m. There will be contests in adult categories. Students to hold
dance party


A dance party will be held from 8:30 p.m. to midnight Friday, April 25, at the Weede Dance Studio. The theme is white. A light snack and refreshments will be provided. The event is sponsored by the International Student Association. Tickets cost $3 a person. For more information, call Meltem Tugut at 235-4607, or Shiho Itooka at 235-4679.


Wildlife speaker
to talk turkey


Sports writer and wildlife enthusiast Larry Dablemont will give a lecture on turkey behavior and turkey calls at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in 102 Yates Hall. Refreshments will be provided. Admission is free.


Earth Day book sale to be held Saturday


A book sale will be held in celebration of Earth Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the SEK Recycling Center, located at 615 N. Joplin. Textbooks, novels and other books will be on sale for a quarter each. Children's books will cost a dime. For more information, call Chuck Delp at 231-8930.


SEK Symphony
to perform concert


The Southeast Kansas Symphony will perform Beethoven's "Sympony No. Eight" and Chopin's "Second Piano Concerto" from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in McCray Recital Hall. Guest artist Debra Snodgrass will play the piano. Tickets will be available at the door one hour in advance and can also be ordered online or picked up at the PSU Ticket Office. Prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Children under 12 will be admitted free.
