Track team tackles two weekend tournaments

The red and white teams finished the Pitt State spring football scrimmage in a 7-7 tie last Saturday in front of 1,100 fans. The spring scrimmage concludes the month-long spring drills for the football team.

On the red team, John McCoy threw a touchdown pass to Cardell Clemmons for the first score in the game, completing an 80-yard drive in eight plays.

McCoy completed six out of 11 passes for a total of 64 yards for the red team, and Andrew Hedges completed six tackles, including two quarterback sacks.

For the white team, Jeff Smith and Levi Richardson combined to complete seven out of 10 passes, and 81 yards. Alex Kuhlman led the white team on tackles, completing six.

Tyler Riggs ran 11 yards in the final play of the game, to tie the score.

Captains for next year's team include senior quarterback Mark Smith, who will be returning for his second season as captain. Senior running back Caleb Farabi, senior inside linebacker Rusty Morgan, and senior defensive end Rashad Pittman have also been honored as team captains.
