Foxtown worth the fight
Noise complaints could threaten much-loved venue's survival

I worry that these kinds of sentiments and actions performed by members of the Mulberry community might one day put an end to the performances Foxtown offers. Only last summer it seemed that the venue was struggling with turnout. If area teens who already have limited resources for good, clean entertainment in Southeast Kansas lose the Foxtown concerts, it would be a detriment to the surrounding communities, as well. Music and the environment provided at Foxtown help alleviate the stresses of teen-age life through a safe and fun establishment.
The only way to keep something good around is to support it through positive actions.
I, for one, would like to extend a sincere "thank you" to Kenneth and Brandy Blakemore who operate Foxtown City Limits for providing such a wonderful atmosphere for young people to enjoy music. I hope a common ground can be found in this dispute and that area music will continue to thrive at Foxtown.
