Spring powwow

The Native American Student Association will have its Spring Pow Wow on Saturday, May 3, at the Pittsburg Middle School Gymnasium. Vendors will set up at 10:30 a.m. Gourd dances will be at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. A supper break will be at 4 p.m. and the grand entry time will begin at 7 p.m. There will be contests in adult categories. plans dance party
The International Student Association will hold a dance party from 8:30 p.m. to midnight Friday, April 25, at the Weede Dance Studio. Tickets cost $3 a person. For more information, call Shiho Itooka at 235-4679, or e-mail her at sitooka@pittstate.edu.

to talk turkey
Sports writer and wildlife enthusiast Larry Dablemont will give a program on turkey behavior and turkey calls at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in 102 Yates Hall. Refreshments will be provided. Admission is free.

financial planning
Karen VanLeeuwen will present "Planning for Your Future - Financial Planning Information" from 12:25 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, in the Balkans Room of the Overman Student Center. There will be free Pitt State stuff. Admission is free. For more information, call Lacey Taylor at 235-4763.

ring day
Jostens will be having a ring day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Gorilla Bookstore in the Overman Student Center. For more information, call Louise Michael at 316-682-4403.
Poet to read
from works
Peggy Shumaker will read some of her poetry at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in the Governors Room of the Overman Student Center as part of PSU's Distinguished Visiting Writer's Series. Shumaker is the author of seven books, including "Just Breathe Normally," a lyrical memoir about a freak bicycle accident. The reading is free and open to the public.
