Johnson says goodbye to SGA; cabinet sworn ion

The Student Government Association swore in new members at Wednesday night's meeting, which marked the last meeting of the year, and bid goodbye to those leaving the Senate.
"It has been a very good year working with all of you," former president Jeremy Johnson said. "It's been a good time for me and a great experience, but I'm ready to move on to other things as I'm sure all of you are. Good luck this coming year with all of the stuff that you do. Thank you for helping me, for helping the students and for all of that SGA stuff."
Sworn into the SGA cabinet were Eddie Penner, president; Andrea Cole, vice president; AsJa Sutton, campus affairs director; Samantha Heady, academic affairs director; Timi Myers, public relations director; Nathan Woodward, community affairs director; Amy Ster, treasurer; Emily Walters, legislative affairs director and Alyssa Hillman, Big Event director. Jazmin Ramirez was also sworn in as senator.
In other business:
n Lisa Ward, president of PSU's Bike Club, stood before the SGA during student opinion time to request a donation for a bicycle ride to benefit the Nature Reach program that is scheduled for May 10. The requested donation was between $50 and $100 and the money would be put toward T-shirts and refreshments during the event.
n Campus Affairs Director Heady sponsored a resolution to allocate $10,075 to the new Student Recreation Center for furniture for the student lounge. The furniture would include a sofa, love seats, coffee tables, square tables, chairs and lounge chairs. The resolution was voted on and passed with a 17-2 vote.
n A resolution sponsored by President Penner to move next year's SGA meetings from 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday to 7 p.m. was voted on and passed unanimously.
