"No, but I liked the way [PSU's] campus is laid out. The price was right, and this is the farthest I could get away from home while still paying in-state tuition. I wanted to be independent, didn't want to be the kind of student who drove home every weekend. I also like that PSU is smaller. I went to a big high school, and the competition at KU and K State was just really unappealing."

Kelsey Anderson, junior in finance

"I had always planned on going to PSU. It's fairly close to home and my brother goes here. I didn't want to go anywhere big. PSU has a really good atmosphere, a good mood. It's just a positive campus."

Steven Dooley, freshman in computer science

"I applied to three schools, but I like the smaller campus here. I applied to the University of Georgia in Athens, but it was just so far away and it cost more. They do have a genetics major, but right now, as things are, I'm able to pay for school without taking out any student loans, so that's good."

Whitney Baldridge, sophomore in biology

"No, I applied to four or five schools, but this one had the best computer program. I could have gone some place closer to where I'm from - Washburn was just 10 minutes away. But I like the freedom here, not living at home. When I came here, I knew one person, just from my area, and now I know a couple 100."

Justin Shaw, freshman in computer science
