The Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks continue to discover why the MIAA is considered by some to be the toughest conference in Division II. One week after being shut out by Northwest 42-0, the Mavericks were stunned by Truman in double-overtime.

(16) Nebraska-Omaha - 20
Truman St. - 26

Kirksville, Mo. - The Truman State Bulldogs (3-2, 2-2) cashed in on a turnover in double-overtime to defeat the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks (3-2, 2-2) 26-20.
After the Mavericks turned the ball over on their first possession, Truman jumped ahead on a 45-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ticich to Albert Coker with 12:10 left in the first quarter.
Later in the first, the Bulldogs took advantage of the Mavericks' second turnover of the game when Derek Rodriguez recovered a Zach Miller fumble and returned it 93 yards for a touchdown.
The Mavericks would score 17 unanswered points to take a 17-14 lead late in the fourth quarter, but Truman tied the game on a 42-yard field goal by Mickey Masucci with one second left in the game.
Both teams traded field goals in the first overtime period with Masucci nailing a career-long 49-yarder.
Nebraska-Omaha got the ball first in the second overtime, but Demetrius Levant picked off a Zach Miller pass and returned it 57 yards for the game-winning score.
Truman quarterback Matt Ticich finished 20-of-39 for 231 yards and one touchdown. Anton Bernard led the Bulldogs in rushing with 34 yards on 11 carries.
Miller finished 14-of-22 passing for 107 yards with two interceptions; he also picked up 63 yards on the ground. Brian McNeill finished with 151 yards on 30 carries with one touchdown.

Washburn - 23
Mo. Southern - 0

Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern Lions (3-3, 1-3) allowed the Washburn Ichabods (4-2, 2-2) to score only one offensive touchdown, but failed to score any of their own, falling 23-0 at home.
The Ichabods' first score came on a 30-yard interception return by Brad Cole with 4:43 left in the second quarter. Washburn added a field goal as time expired in the first half and took a 10-0 lead into halftime.
